Desert Foothills Library Independent Film Festival 2016 (7/8-8/26)

July 29: Lemon Tree. Director Eran Riklis. 106 minutes. The story of a Palestinian widow who
must defend her lemon tree field when a new Israeli Defense Minister moves next to her and
threatens to have her lemon grove torn down. Israeli with subtitles. Drama 2008

August 5: Phoenix. Director Christian Petzold. 98 minutes. A disfigured Holocaust survivor
sets out to determine if the man she loved betrayed her trust. Drama 2015

August 12: Suffragette - Director Sarah Gavron 106 min. The foot soldiers of the early feminist
movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse

An exploration of tea, history and tasting of 10 teas from around the world. From rare white teas to oolong to black tea to herbal blends, we'll explore the tea spectrum and ‘de-coffee-inate’ you forever with exciting teas.


About the presenter: Chef Larry P. Canepa is a Certified Culinary Educator with a dynamic, innovative and engaging style that incorporates food history, culinary arts, education and 'food-tainment' into every program. Each presentation is a fun experience, including analyses of the historical, social and cultural aspects of food and culture. Chef believes in the Farm-to-Table approach to food, education and dining and works closely with local farmers, growers, and food artisans to create a delicious and informative food experience—adult Learning with specialized curriculum based on Culinary Arts.

No charge. Class size limited to 40 adults.
