With the Nazi occupation in Lithuania, Ziata’s life changed forever. She was Jewish, but she survived the horrors of the Holocaust. Honoring her family by telling their stories and travelling to Lithuania and Poland in their footsteps, she wishes to ensure the world’s largest genocide is not forgotten. Join Author Ettie Zilber for a discussion about her family’s history and the book she wrote to preserve it.

Born in a Displaced Persons’ Camp in Germany after WWII, the author heard Holocaust stories since childhood. As refugees, her family eventually immigrated to the USA. As an educational leader in international schools in numerous countries she has shared her family’s story with students and adults – and with her children.
