An informal discussion of  books, film and theater, led by a facilitator. No requirements to read or see any particular book, film or play. Everyone is invited to share ideas and reflections on the selected theme.

This Month: What does survival mean to you? Is it surviving a natural disaster? A pandemic? Disease or infection? War? Personal strife or domestic violence Election season? Or, does survival mean being prepared in the event of a catastrophe or disaster? Consider the true stories of people who have survived incredible odds under excruciating circumstances. What can we learn from their experiences? Come and share your own stories. Books to consider: Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage by Alan Lansing, Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, Unbroken: a WWII Story by Laura Hillenbrand. Films to consider: 127 Hours, The Martian, Apollo 13, The Mountain Between Us, The Revenant.
