When we are young it is easy to stay active and healthy with the watchful eye of our parents. A familiar chorus of, “stay inside, do chores; go outside, have fun”. There is gym class, sports, and just roaming around outside which helps our growing bodies, but as we get older and busier with the world of being an adult our fitness and health can take a backseat in our lives.
At Desert Foothills Library we try to make health and wellness a key aspect of our programming and collection. We want to be the reminder to a healthier life, and have an ease of access to that information for our community. Ask your librarians for help finding the right tool for your overall wellbeing, whether that be a book, program, local practitioner, database for the newest articles, or a new support group.
