Through a collaboration between the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and The Pokémon Company, Desert Foothills Library is excited to offer our first Pokémon Club beginning on Jan. 29 through March 26. We provide the materials needed to learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game plus snacks and giveaways! No experience required.
Gaming helps build social-emotional confidence as well as cognitive skills through math and reading comprehension. Through activities like deck-building, puzzle-solving, and collaborative gameplay, students practice:
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving
- Math and reading comprehension
- Communication, teamwork, and empathy
