Chapter 2 Bookstore receives thousands of donated books each month; in fact, the bookstore exists due to the generosity of the Desert Foothills community. These donations are sold in Chapter 2 Bookstore, and on our online bookstore at Amazon.
But sometimes, we discover amazing and unique items buried in boxes of donations. So once per year, we set those special items out for our patrons to discover. If you find something you just must have, you can buy it and, just like the books we sell, the proceeds go directly back to the library.
Our annual “Things Found in Books” sale is underway and for the next several weeks you can swing by and see if anything is calling your name. We find all sorts of things in boxes, and even tucked into the pages of donated books. The display includes all of these items, some of which are available for free while others are listed at a modest price.
Here are just a few of the items available at this very moment (hurry before someone else picks them up for their own collection). You can see there is a bunch of show bills from plays, a couple of pins from the Daughters of the American Revolution, and an autographed photo of Chicago Cubs and White Sox legend Ron Santo.
