How long have you worked at Desert Foothills Library?

Just a little over three years

What do you like best about the library?
I enjoy our diverse customer base. Whether youth, teen or adult, they all bring a different perspective of their library needs and I enjoy interacting with all of them.

What is something that may surprise people who visit the library?

I have made the 20+ mile roundtrip hike to the Havasupai Indian Reservation waterfalls at the Grand Canyon three times. I had hoped to go one more time with my kids, but my knees have failed me.

When did you first become interested in books and reading? Tell us the story.
Third grade! Our local libraries in Ridgefield Park and Hackensack, New Jersey were my home away from home during summer break. I was there so often, the librarian would ask me to help patrons find their books. I got really good at searching the card catalog.

What is a recent book you’ve read that you’d recommend and why?
Well, this is where it gets complicated. I don’t read as much as I used to, but I hope to remedy that in my retirement! Having said that, I really enjoyed The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and Verity by Colleen Hoover. I enjoy psychological thrillers with plot twists and these books have that in spades.
