The Desert Foothills Library is pleased to announce that Anjali Tierney has been hired as its new Director of Development.
Anjali brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and communications experience to the library. Most recently, she served as Development Officer and Instructor at Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory, where she helped lead development initiatives during the school’s 50th anniversary while also teaching a public speaking course to upper school students.
Previously, Anjali was Executive Director of South Asians for Safe Families in Scottsdale, where she guided the organization’s overall strategy, financial management, and community programs supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She has also held development leadership roles with Susan G. Komen and Thunderbird Academy, where she designed and implemented successful major donor campaigns and cultivated significant philanthropic relationships.
Earlier in her career, Anjali served as Executive Director of Keep Phoenix Beautiful and held senior communications and outreach roles with organizations focused on healthcare and sexual assault prevention. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to build strong community partnerships, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and inspire philanthropic support.
A Phoenix native and graduate of Aurora University, Anjali is also a sought-after public speaker and has presented at the National Coalition Against Sexual Assault Conference. She is a proud Valley Leadership alumna and brings a deep commitment to strengthening community institutions.
In her new role, Anjali will lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts to support the library’s programs, services, and long-term growth.
