Located inside the Desert Foothills Library, Chapter 2 offers an ever-changing selection of more than 15,000 books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks, and puzzles covering virtually every genre and interest.
What makes Chapter 2 special is the people behind it. The bookstore is entirely volunteer-driven, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1954 when volunteers first began supporting the library. Today, those dedicated volunteers sort donations, run the store daily, host monthly book sales, and even manage online sales. Every purchase directly supports programs and operations at the Desert Foothills Library. The bookstore is currently accepting new volunteer applications!
Each month, Chapter 2 receives thousands of donated books and media items from the generous Desert Foothills community. During the monthly book sales, selected items from the already low-priced inventory are offered at additional discounts, making it the perfect time to stock up on books for yourself, your family, or as gifts.

Chapter 2 is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The bookstore also accepts new and gently used books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks on CD, and lightly used puzzles. Donations help keep the shelves full and provide essential funding for the library. Items can be dropped off during regular bookstore hours, and carts are available for larger donations.
